Black History Parade Set For Saturday In Mount Olive

Black History Parade Set For Saturday In Mount Olive

Breazeale Avenue in Mount Olive is expected to be lined with cars and motorcycles this Saturday for the Unity Organization’s annual  Black History Month Parade.  Lineup begins at 12 PM and the parade gets underway at 1 PM.  This year’s parade was scaled back due to COVID-19, and it will feature Mayor Kenneth Talton and the Mount Olive Board of Commissioners along with motorcycle and auto clubs.  This year’s Grand Marshal will be Mary Chasten.  Unfortunately, parade participants will not be allowed to throw candy to kids this year.  There will also be a heater giveaway after the parade at the Mount Olive Train Depot.

NOTE: The rain date for the events will be March 6th.
