(NORTH CAROLINA NEWS NETWORK) — A group of North Carolina House Republicans unveiled a bill Tuesday that would expand learning opportunities for children who may have fallen behind as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
House Speaker Tim Moore says the Summer Learning Choice for NC Families bill would provide six weeks of in-classroom learning over the summer.
Moore says this lays out a plan to help the kids catch up on their learning if needed.
Moore says $1.6 billion has been appropriated to fund the operation of the program.
