Virtual Beekeeping Classes Begin Next Week

Students and families are invited to learn about basic beekeeping through a virtual format to learn at their own pace and interact live with our certified beekeepers and instructors weekly from February 25th through March 13th.  Live interaction with instructors will be held from 6:30 to 8:00 pm on Monday and Thursday evenings. This is a Basic Beekeeping Class open to anyone interested in becoming a North Carolina Certified Beekeeper, and/or anyone wanting to learn about beekeeping or desiring to refresh their current knowledge & skills.

Registration is being held this Saturday, February 20, from 8 – 11 AM at the Farmers Market, located behind the Maxwell Center. Registration is also available on the Beekeepers of the Neuse Facebook page.

Class options are $60 per person or $85 per family. Payments can be mailed with Check or Money Order to: Beekeepers of the Neuse, PO Box 977, Goldsboro, NC 27533-0977. Cash or Credit Card is accepted on Registration Day at the Farmers Market.

All students have the option to take an official North Carolina State Beekeepers (NCSBA) Certification exam upon conclusion of the course. Testing will be held on Saturday, Mar 13, from 9:00 to 11:00 am at in Walnut Room 101 at Wayne Community College. Practical exams will be held during the summer months to complete the NCSBA requirements for certification. Students are not required to take the final exam or purchase honeybees after completion of course.
