The pandemic can’t stop an evening of fun for these special needs individuals.

First Baptist Church in Goldsboro coordinated its second annual a Night To Shine Prom in a virtual format on Friday evening.

Donna Countryman is the Night to Shine Chairperson for First Baptist Church.

She says they were overwhelmed by the support for this year’s event.

113 individuals registered for this year’s prom.

Most of those individuals come from Wayne County.

The honored guests were able to stream this year’s event at home with friends and family.

Some of the attendees even stopped by First Baptist Church Friday, were announced during their red carpet entrance, and pickup up their gift bags and meals.

Countryman thanks all the volunteers, businesses, civic clubs and others that assisted with making this year’s Night to Shine possible.

The local Night to Shine was hardly alone.

These events were held around the world Friday evening.

The Night to Shine Prom is an initiative of the Tim Tebow Foundation.

At the end of the evening’s festivities, Tebow crowned all the honored guests the King or Queen of the Prom.
