Yvonne Edwards Davenport, 75, was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus on Monday evening at home surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Lorean Robbins Edwards.

Yvonne had worked for many years as a bookkeeper for Coble Dairy in Goldsboro. She was a member of Westwood United Methodist Church. Yvonne always enjoyed square dancing and for many years was a part of the Tarheel Twillers. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.

A service to celebrate Yvonne’s life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2021 in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with Pastor Andrew Hise officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Attendees are asked to practice social distancing and wear masks. Interment will be in the New Hope Friends Cemetery.

She is survived by her sister, Dianne Kornegay and husband, Milton, and several nieces and nephews that she loved very much.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll “Gene” Davenport; and brothers, Doug Edwards and Wayne Edwards.
