Wayne C.A.N. To Host Virtual Town Hall Next Week

The community is invited to take part in an important conversation regarding the needs of Wayne County’s children and families, especially during the ongoing pandemic.

Wayne CAN (Child Advocacy Network) is hosting a virtual town hall next week Tuesday.

Valerie Wallace, the Executive Director of the Partnership for Children of Wayne County, will be one of the panelists.

Wallace says participants may be surprised at how kids are suffering during the COVID-19 pandemic, including how their mental health has been affected.

She says the childcare community is also struggling during the pandemic and it could use more funding to complete its essential work.

Wallace hopes local legislators from the N.C. General Assembly will also take part in the conversation to learn where assistance is needed.

Parents, along with local and state experts, will provide an overview of key issues that need to be addressed to help our children succeed.

  • Dr. Dave Tayloe – Goldsboro Pediatrics
  • Dr. Carol Artis – Wayne County Public Schools
  • Valerie Wallace – Partnership for Children Wayne County
  • Patricia Beier – WAGES, Inc.

The Wayne CAN virtual town hall is being held via Zoom on Tuesday, February 16, from 6 – 7:30 PM.
