WCC’s Dawson Elected Association President

Renita D. Allen Dawson is the new president of the North Carolina Community College Adult Educators Association.

Dawson, the associate vice president of workforce continuing education services at Wayne Community College, was elected to a two-year term as the association’s president.

The board of directors that Dawson leads is responsible for adopting policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure the continuing responsible and effective operation of the association.

Dawson is joined on the association board by WCC Coordinator of Occupational Extension Special Programs Monica Edwards Miller. She is serving as the occupational extension representative on the board.

The North Carolina Community College Adult Educators Association is composed of continuing education instructors, administrators, and support staff employed in the North Carolina Community College System.

The association provides leadership for the advancement of adult education in North Carolina; promotes the concept of continued, lifelong learning for all citizens; promotes sound management practices in the areas of the adult education curriculum, instructor training, certification, accreditation, and permanent record-keeping; and encourages quality work performance and professionalism by adult educators.
