County Provides Update On Vaccination Efforts

As of Wednesday, the Wayne County Health Department has administered 5,448 doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. The county has a total of 12,259 names on its waiting list from the call center and online registration form. It continues to schedule those on the wait list for doses of the vaccine as it is available, and anyone who missed a call from the call center will receive a call back if they were not available. Next week, Wayne County will be scheduling second dose shots for those who received their first dose at the Maxwell Center in January. If you received your first shot and are waiting on your second shot, a call center volunteer will be calling you to schedule that appointment soon.

For individuals that have signed up for Wayne County’s waiting list, the county is working diligently to get through the waiting list and ensure that everyone has access to a vaccine. Additional providers are coming online to distribute the COVID-19 vaccine but supplies of the vaccine remain limited across the country.  As more providers come online, it is important to remember who is responsible for administering your vaccine. If you receive a call from Wayne County to setup an appointment, the call taker will inform you that they are calling from Wayne County and they will give you your appointment time, date, and location.

As we navigate through the ever-changing vaccination phases, Wayne County asks for your continued patience and understanding while working to vaccinate residents as quickly as possible with limited doses available. For more information on the COVID-19 vaccine, visit www.waynegov.com/vaccine.
