(NORTH CAROLINA NEWS NETWORK) — Senators Richard Burr and Thom Tillis introduced Michael Regan, a native North Carolinian and President Joe Biden’s nominee to serve as Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, before his Senate confirmation committee hearing. Burr says Regan has built a solid reputation by working with rural, agricultural communities in a constructive manner. Sen. Burr noted that Regan’s nomination is supported by over 20 of the largest agriculture organizations in the country. If confirmed, he would be the first African American to run EPA. Regan is a Goldsboro native and he attended Goldsboro High School.
