Nettie Duncan Ricks, 97, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Pruitt Health-Raleigh. Born in Newport News, Virginia on September 30, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Jennings Badin Duncan and Nettie Miles Duncan.

A service to celebrate Nettie’s life will be held on Monday, January 25, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.

Nettie is survived by her children, Emily Ricks Bell and husband, Robert Bell of Cary, Timothy Ross Ricks and wife Margarita Isabel Ricks of Weston, FL, and David Mark Ricks and wife Janice Reneau Ricks of Frisco, TX; grandchildren, Heather Bell Davis and husband Tripp, Alison Bell, and Meredith Bell Hughes and husband Daniel; and seven great-grandchildren, Emily, Anna, Eliza, Aubrey, Miles, Miller and Effie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Dr. Horace W. Ricks. Nettie supported her husband in many of his pastorates across North Carolina.
