January 18, 2021, 94, Mount Olive –

Eula Barwick Malpass, life-long resident of the Mount Olive area, passed away Monday morning, January 18, 2021, at the age of 94.

She had worshipped her Lord at Northeast Original Free Will Baptist Church, was one of 13 children born to late parents, Franklin L. and Onita Herring Barwick. All siblings are now deceased and so is her husband, Calvin Ellis Malpass, Sr.; a son, Mickey Malpass; a daughter-in-law, Doris Jean Malpass; and a great-granddaughter, Cody Malpass.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Emily Grady Malpass of Seven Springs, Ellis Malpass of Mount Olive, and Phyllis Pinyatello of Carolina Beach; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a brother-in-law, H. R. Malpass; a sister-in-law, Maggie Barwick; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The life of Mrs. Eula Malpass will be remembered Friday, January 22, at 3 p.m. by the graveside at Wayne Memorial Park. Officiating will be Michael Sykes. the family will be greeting friends and relatives at the cemetery.
