John Charles “Charlie” Tripp, age 70, of Mt. Olive, passed away Saturday evening at his home. Born in Greene County, he was the son of the late John Kirt and Virginia Lee Alphin Tripp.

Funeral services will be held at a later date.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Lynne Sutton Tripp; daughters, Tracy St. Sing and Linda Michelle Turner; grandchildren, Madison Grace St. Sing, Charles Robert St. Sing, Darron Howery and Olivia Turner; nephews, Curtis Lee Tripp, Johnny Tripp and Kirt Tripp; brothers-in-law, Oscar Linwood Sutton, Jr., Ronald Edward Pigg, Donald Edward Pigg and Michael Wayne Pigg; sisters-in-law, Cynthia Gail Rock and Tammy Sue Smith.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, John Charles Tripp, Jr.; brother, Curtis Lee Tripp; brother-in-law, William Roy Pigg, III.
