Harold Lee Hill, 76, went to be with his Lord on Friday, January 8, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.
Harold Lee Hill was born January 18, 1944 in Wayne County to the late James Edward and Ruth Woodard Hill. Harold was a graduate of Rosewood High School. He was the founder of Hill Electric and was active in the electrical business until his retirement in 2015. Harold went by many names: Honey, Daddy, Papa, Old Papa, Papa Harold, Brother, Uncle and Friend. Harold enjoyed spending time at the Creek with his wife and family. He loved fishing and being the captain of his boat, and especially enjoyed dining on those Catfish nuggets at Jordan’s Seafood in Swansboro. He loved those October trips to the mountains and watching the squirrels try to outsmart the bird feeder in the backyard. But his favorite thing was his family. He loved spending time with them. They were precious to him.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 11, 2021 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at The First Pentecostal Holiness Church followed by a service to celebrate Harold’s life at 3:00 p.m. in the sanctuary with Rev. John Howard and Rev. Andy Stovall officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. Attendees are asked to wear a face covering and practice social distancing.
Harold is survived by his wife, Evelyn Williford Hill; daughters, Tammie Hill Brown; Sheila Hill Adams and husband, Ronnie; and Angie Hill Lynn; son, Jeff Hill and wife, Kim; stepdaughters, Lesa Pease and husband, Larry; and Nicole Anders and husband, Chris; grandchildren, Matthew Brown and wife, Sarah; Scottie Brown and wife; Rebecca; Dawn Hill Womble and husband, Jonathan; Nikki Hill Heath and husband, Randy; Amber Adams and significant other, Matt Hohing; Taylor Adams and fiancé, Nick Houston; Haley Lynn; Shawn McCullen and fiancé, Jordan Huffman; Kristin McDougall and husband, Jeremy; and Jordan Lynn; great grandchildren, Weston Brown; Kendall Brown; Abigail Brown, Turner Womble; Teagan Womble; Brantly Heath; Travis Heath; Tate McArtan; Sadie Hohing; Mason McCullen; Ariana McCullen; Sadie McDougall; Gavin McDougall; Kayla Bartlett and husband, Matt; Chloe Anders; Chanlee Anders; and Conleigh Anders; and great-great grandchildren, Hunter Bartlett and Gavin Bartlett. Harold is also survived by his sisters, Carol Hill Gerenscer and husband, Steve; Linda Hill Morris and husband, Carl, Donna Hill Keen and husband, Buddy; and Susan Hill Peedin and husband, Larry; and brothers, Ronnie Hill and wife, Vickie; Olin Hill and wife, Marion; Ricky Hill,; sisters-in-law Carol Hill; Pam Hill; and Joyce Turner; and brother-in-law Herbert Hartley
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his wife and the mother of his children, Judy Turner Hill. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Fay Capps and her husband Ray, and Jean Hartley; his brothers, Charles Hill, Max Hill and Kent Hill; his sisters-in-law, Cindy Hill and Amanda Bullock; and his brother-in-law, Jerry Turner.
