James Milton “Bo” Kearney

James Milton “Bo” Kearney, 88, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Wayne UNC Health Care. Born in Wayne County on July 1, 1932, he was the son of the George Kearney and Winnie Ham Kearney.

Bo was a retired farmer and delivered the News-Argus for over twenty years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Bo was a member of Patetown Church of God where he served as a member of the Pastor Council and as an usher. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

A service to celebrate Bo’s life will be held Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Snow Hill Cemetery with Rev. Marvin Wiggins and Rev. Jimmy Scott officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.

Bo is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Ellen Davis Kearney; daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Owens and husband, Clifton; sons, Tim Kearney and Eddie Kearney and wife, Lori; sisters, Dolly Mackvick, Doris Loy, and Faye Phillips; brother, Kenneth “Tom” Kearney and wife, Betty; and his grandchildren, Parker Owens, Hadley Owens, Gage Kearney, Dylan Kearney, Jaden Kearney, Kelsey Kearney, and Zackery Kearney.
