Alfonzo Garcia passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at his home. He was born in Michoacan, Mexico to the late Jose Garcia Diaz and Encarnacion Ponce on March 18, 1947. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved, Maria Angela Castaneda Gil, and their daughter, Araceli Garcia Castaneda.
Alfonzo’s life revolved around his family. As the patriarch, his primary concern was the well-being of his daughter and grandchildren. He loved being “Pachicho” to Filiberto, Hector, and Luis. His favorite times with family were spent on trips home to Mexico, working in the yard with Luis, and going to the beach with everyone.
Always one to give good advice, his daughter and grandchildren looked to him for guidance. Alfonzo encouraged them to make the right decisions and work hard to have their best life. He was a wonderful father and grandfather.
Angela, the love of his life, was his best friend and partner. With nearly 50 years of marriage, their love was deep and strong. Though his family will miss him greatly, they find comfort in knowing that Alfonzo and Angela have been reunited for all of eternity.
A service to honor Alfonzo’s life will be held at the home on January 9, 2021. He will return to Mexico to be laid to rest.
Alfonzo is survived by his daughter, Hortencia Garcia Castaneda and her husband, Fabian Castillo; and three grandchildren, Filiberto Garcia Trejo, Hector Garcia, and Luis Alfonzo Garcia.

La Grange-Alfonzo García falleció el domingo 3 de enero de 2021 en su casa. Nació en Michoacán, México, hijo del difunto José García Díaz y Encarnación Ponce el 18 de marzo de 1947. Además de sus padres, fue precedido en la muerte por su amada, María Angela Castaneda Gil, y su hija, Araceli García Castaneda.
La vida de Alfonzo giraba en torno a su familia. Como patriarca, su principal preocupación era el bienestar de su hija y sus nietos. Le encantaba ser “Pachicho” para Filiberto, Héctor y Luis. Sus momentos favoritos con la familia se pasaban en viajes a casa a México, trabajando en el patio con Luis, y yendo a la playa con todo el mundo.
Siempre uno para dar buenos consejos, su hija y sus nietos lo buscaron. Alfonzo los animó a tomar las decisiones correctas y trabajar duro para tener su mejor vida. Era un padre y un abuelo maravillosos.
Angela, el amor de su vida, era su mejor amigo y compañero. Con casi 50 años de matrimonio, su amor era profundo y fuerte. Aunque su familia lo extrañará mucho, encuentran consuelo al saber que Alfonzo y Angela se han reunido por toda la eternidad.
Un servicio para honrar la vida de Alfonzo se llevará a cabo en la casa el 9 de enero de 2021. Regresará a México para que descanse.
A Alfonzo le sobreviven su hija, Hortencia García Castaneda y su esposo, Fabián Castillo; y tres nietos, Filiberto García Trejo, Héctor García y Luis Alfonzo García.
