Vaccine Registration Begins For Individuals Age 75 & Older

Beginning this week, individuals who are age 75 or older will be able to register at an off-site location to receive a COVID-19 vaccine free from the Wayne County Health Department under Phase 1B of vaccination distribution. This phased approach to vaccine distribution is determined by the State of North Carolina, and protects those at highest risk first. While vaccine supplies remain limited, the Wayne County Health Department will continue to vaccinate as we receive doses.

Individuals age 75 and older who wish to receive the COVID-19 vaccine must register for an appointment to get vaccinated. During registration, residents will be given an appointment time to visit the Health Department to receive the vaccine. The Health Department will not be giving vaccinations to walk-up visitors; you must register for an appointment. Registration will take place:

  • Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the Maxwell Center in Goldsboro
  • Thursday, January 7, 2021 from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the Peggy M. Seegars Senior Center in Goldsboro

Registration for appointments will be on a first come, first served basis. The Wayne County Health Department only has 550 doses of the vaccine to register for at these two events. Individuals who visit a registration site should bring their I.D. as well as insurance card. The vaccine will be available at no cost, regardless of insurance coverage.
