Those interested in filling a vacancy on the Goldsboro City Council have less than two weeks to apply.
The council set the procedure for filling the District 1 vacancy at Monday’s meeting after hearing from City Attorney Ron Lawrence.
Under the approved resolution and procedure, applications will need to be submitted to the Goldsboro City Clerks Office by 5 PM on Friday, January 15.
The council will interview the qualified candidates at the February 1 meeting and make a final selection for the vacancy at the February 15 meeting.
Applications are available at the Goldsboro City Clerk’s Office.
The vacancy was created when Antonio Williams, the former District 1 representative, stepped down from the Goldsboro City Council in December following his election to the Wayne County Board of Commissioners.
