Two Arrested For Goldsboro Armed Robbery

On November 17th, the Goldsboro Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery on the 900 block of S. Audubon Ave. The victim reported that two males entered her apartment and held her and her 2-year-old child at gunpoint. The suspects then took cash and fled. The report was forwarded to the Goldsboro Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division.

During the course of the investigation, 18-year-old Zenya L. Jones of Goldsboro and a 15-year-old male juvenile were developed as suspects. Warrants were secured on Jones for Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon. A juvenile petition for Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon was filed against the 15-year-old juvenile suspect. A secure custody order was also issued for the juvenile.

Monday afternoon, members of the Goldsboro Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division and VICE unit, with assistance from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Marshals Violent Offender Task Force, took both suspects into custody in the 700 block of Sandhill Drive in Dudley.  Jones was served with her warrants from this incident along with warrants from a separate armed robbery charged by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. She was given a secured bond of $205,000. The juvenile suspect was transported to the Pitt Regional Juvenile Center.

The investigation into this matter is still ongoing.
