Goldsboro Parks and Rec is receiving nearly $100,000 from the CARES Act.
At this week’s city council meeting, Goldsboro Finance Director Catherine Gwynn explained the Parks and Recreation Department applied for the funds through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act.
Gwynn says the city was notified it was a recipient of an award in the amount of $94,616.
The Goldsboro Parks and Recreation Department will apply the grant to a remote learning program.

There is no match required for the grant.
The Goldsboro City Council approved accepting the grant at this week’s meeting.
