Murry Rayborn Daw, 82, passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at Wayne UNC Health Care.

Rayborn was born in Wayne County on October 9, 1938 to the late Noah Jesse Daw, Sr. and Viola Hare Daw. He proudly served in the North Carolina National Guard for 8 years. Rayborn was a farmer and many of his happiest times were spent on his tractor at the family farm. He attended Pikeville Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.

A service to celebrate Rayborn’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 8, 2020 in the sanctuary of the Pikeville Church with Pastor Mark Whitfield officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the church. Interment will be Monday, November 9, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.

Rayborn is survived by his wife, Margie Forehand Daw; sons and daughters-in-law, Garry and Donna Mooring and Brent and Lynn Mooring; sisters, Millie Hardison and husband Ferrell and Connie Gurganus and husband Jim; brothers, Delanor Daw and wife Sandra and Noah Daw; grandchildren, Erin Jackson and husband Andy, Casi Harrison and husband John, Tyler Mooring and Kelly Mooring; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Alton Daw.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be given in his memory to Pikeville P.F.W.B. Church, 336 Nahunta Road, Pikeville, NC 27863.
