Julia Rachel Kornegay Hill, age 99, went to her heavenly home Thursday morning at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Born in Duplin County, she was the daughter of the late John and Ardolia Outlaw Kornegay and wife of the late James E. Hill. She was also preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Edward Hill, a brother, Eldon Lee Kornegay and a nephew, Eldon Lee Kornegay, Jr.. She was a dedicated member of Daly’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.

A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held Monday at 11:00 am at Fairview Cemetery in LaGrange with Pastor George Futrelle and Pastor Scott Satterfield officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the graveside.

Julia is survived by her brothers, Justin Kornegay and J. Nelson Kornegay and his wife, Faye; her nieces, Violet Tapia and her husband, Jorge, JoAnn Underhill and her husband, John, Jane Ellen Groves and husband, W.C., Diane Brown and her husband, Paul, Ashley Faulk and her husband, Ven; and nephew, Jay Kornegay, Ricky Kornegay and Mark Kornegay and his wife, LaVonda; numerous great nieces and nephews and her loving church and community family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to the Daly’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 6138 Daly’s Chapel Rd, Seven Springs, North Carolina 28578.
