Edna Grantham Jones, 78, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2020 at Rex Health Care in Raleigh.

Edna was born in Wayne County on October 15, 1942 to the late Luby and Esther Mae Rose Grantham. She was married to the late John Milton Jones. Edna worked for many years as a bookkeeper with the Wayne County Public School. She was a member of Stoney Creek Original Free Will Baptist Church and the Ambassador Sunday School Class. Edna was the rock for her husband, children, grandchildren and family. She loved them with all her heart and truly was a blessing to them.

A service to celebrate Edna’s life will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Stoney Creek Original Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Barry Williamson and Rev. David Charles Hansley officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 6, 2020 in Wayne Memorial Park.

Edna is survived by her son, Jimmy Earl Jones and wife Tamara of Winterville; sister, Betsy Jones of Mount Olive; daughter-in-law, Tammy Jones of Pikeville; brother, Jimmy Grantham of Goldsboro; and three grandchildren, Katlyn, Olivia and Ava.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, John M. Jones, Jr.; sister, Laverle Batten; and brother, Hiram Grantham.
