The State Highway Patrol pauses to remember the life of Wayne County Trooper Nolan J. Sanders.

In an public ceremony held online, the State Highway Patrol celebrated the life and service of Trooper Sanders who passed away earlier this year.

Pastor Jeff Dail from Mount Olive Pentecostal Holiness Church shared that love will define Sanders’ life.

Trooper Sanders was on duty in Wayne County during the evening of March 27th when his patrol vehicle ran off the road on I-795 near mile marker 19.5.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sanders was born in Wayne County, and he was a five-year veteran with the State Highway Patrol.
