Hazel McLawhorn Bandy, 98, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2020 at Brookdale Country Day Road.

Hazel was born in Greene County, North Carolina on November 12, 1921 to the late Jesse and Ruby Heath McLawhorn. She was married to the late Joseph R. Bandy. Hazel was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church.

Her warmth generosity and kind spirit were well known and cherished by those she encountered throughout her life. Even in her declining health, she found joy in simple pleasures: visits from family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at 2:30 p.m. in Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. Carolyn Sims officiating.

Hazel is survived by her son, Robert R. Bandy and wife Connie of Goldsboro; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Bandy Yelverton; great-granddaughter, Asheton Marie Bandy; brothers, Jesse Gray McLawhorn and Joseph Cecil McLawhorn; and sister, Elizabeth Radford.
