NC Freedom Fest is proud to announce Parmalee as the headliner of the 2021 NC Freedom Fest on Armed Forces Day, Saturday, May 15th, 2021 in Downtown Goldsboro, North Carolina. Continuing on the event started by the Goldsboro Elks Lodge BPOE #139 and “Wings of Wayne”, the NC Freedom Fest is a Military Appreciation Festival focused on celebrating our Armed Forces and their dedication to our State and Country. This first year of the event will be extra special having one of North Carolina and Country music’s most successful new acts on board with the booking of the band Parmalee.
Parmalee is a platinum-selling band of brothers and one of only four groups since 2001 to earn three consecutive Top 10 singles from a debut Country album. Since their debut at Country radio, they have earned over 373 million Pandora streams, 123 million plays on Spotify, over 31 million YouTube/VEVO views, and 1.7 million Shazam subscribers. Heralded as “Country Music’s Breakout Stars” by MSN Entertainment, Parmalee has supported Brad Paisley and Jake Owen on national tours while finding time to perform on NBC’s TODAY show, The Late Late Show, FOX & Friends All American Summer Concert Series, MLB Central’s Studio 21, The Queen Latifah Show and more. Parmalee – comprised of brothers Matt and Scott Tomas (lead vocals/guitar and drums, respectively), cousin Barry Knox (bass) and life-long best friend Josh McSwain (guitar) – continue to show loyalty to their home state of North Carolina with the release “Down Town.” The band’s latest release “Just the Way”, is a collaboration with BBR Music Group’s Blanco Brown, the mastermind behind the international smash single ‘The Git Up’. Parmalee and Brown struck up a friendship several years ago and have since written together on several occasions. Knowing how dedicated Blanco is to spreading joy and purpose, Parmalee invited the “Trailer Trap” creator to join them on the song and share in spreading the message of self-love. The feel good, from-the-heart track, with its melodic groove, blends Matt Tomas’ lead vocals with Blanco’s, in a new way, never heard before. The new collaboration praises folks for being true to themselves and encourages self-acceptance. For more information, visit: http://www.parmalee.com.
This festival is funded entirely by sponsorships, and could not happen without the support from businesses and organizations such as Georgia Pacific, Jernigan Furniture and numerous others. Their support has been integral in establishing the groundwork for the success of this event.
The festival will take place on Center Street in beautiful Downtown Goldsboro, at the newly finished “The Hub” entertainment venue. Parmalee will take the stage, sponsored by the Wayne County Military Affairs Committee, around 8 pm. More details on other entertainment acts to come at a later date. In addition to amazing entertainment, the 2021 festival will also feature a car show, courtesy of Wayne County Cruisers, a Kids Zone, and more. As for food and beverage, the festival is continuing on the tradition of the Wings of Wayne Wing Cook-off, hosted by the Elks Lodge, as well a wide range of food trucks from around the state. Wash down those delicious wings with one of many ice cold beers that will be served in the beer garden, sponsored by Coastal Beverage Company.
As we wait for May to get here, the NC Freedom Fest committee hopes that you and your loved ones stay healthy and safe
