Dudley-Kris Bernard Dean, 60, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. Born in Wayne County on July 31, 1960, to Bernard Eugene “B.E.” Dean of Chesapeake, VA and the late Frances Van Hoy Dean.

Kris loved the outdoors and nothing was better than the tug of a fish on the line or time spent riding his motorcycle. Family was paramount to Kris, he loved them all, but he found the most joy in being Papa to his granddaughters.

A service to celebrate Kris’ life will be held Saturday, October 10, 2020 at 12:00 noon at Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.

In addition to his father, Kris is survived by his son, Westley Dean and wife, Kathryn; brothers, Jody Dean of Goldsboro, Eric Dean of Goldsboro, and Alex Dean of Chesapeake, VA; granddaughters, Ella and Kaley; adopted son, Tripp Dail and girlfriend, Myra Markham; and the mother of his son, Perrye Smith.
