More COVID-19 cases are popping up across the Wayne County Public Schools system.

WCPS says it has been notified that an individual who was recently on the Brogden Middle campus, an individual who was recently on the Carver Elementary campus, three individuals who were recently on the Charles B. Aycock High campus, an individual who was recently on the Eastern Wayne Elementary campus, an individual who was recently on the Fremont Elementary campus, five individuals who were recently on the Rosewood High campus (Note: This is not considered a cluster as not all cases are related), and an individual who was recently on the Southern Wayne High campus have tested positive for COVID-19.

These new cases come a day or so after WCPS decided to temporarily transition Brogden Primary School to Plan C, all remote learning, due to instances of coronavirus-infected persons on the school’s campus.

All recommended guidelines from the NC Department of Health and Human Services have been followed. Learn more about the district’s COVID-19 response protocols at: https://www.waynecountyschools.org/2020-2021SchoolReopeningUpdates.aspx

WCPS says, as always, please be mindful to wear a mask, wash your hands, and practice social distancing when on a WCPS campus.
