Wayne County’s unemployment rate is heading in the right direction – Down!
According to the latest figures from the N.C. Department of Commerce, Wayne County’s seasonally unadjusted jobless rate dropped to 6.3% in August.
That’s down from the 8.1% unemployment rate recorded in July.
However, the county’s jobless rate this past August was still higher than the 4.5% rate reported in August of 2019.
Wayne County was ranked as having the 46th lowest unemployment rate out of North Carolina’s 100 counties this August.
