Deeper Life Church Ministries, 900 Eleventh Street, Goldsboro, will host a drive-thru voter registration and its second COVID-19 testing on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
“We are in a very critical time in voting history,” stated Dr. Aaron McNair, II, Sr. Pastor of DLCM. “If ever every eligible person needed to vote, it is now. Too much is at stake politically, socially, and health wise, to take this year’s elections lightly. We are hosting the second covid-19 testing because things have not improved since our first testing in July. Businesses are still shutting down, healthcare systems are still operating differently, and persons who never imagined it, are still finding themselves without food to eat.” Pat Ford, an elder at DLCM, noted that these are some of the driving forces pushing Overseer Norbert Simmons and Pastor Aaron McNair, Sr. to impact members and the community we serve.
The COVID-19 testing is provided by Resourceful Clinical Laboratory, an African American laboratory out of Gastonia, NC. RCL has been in operation for five years. Recently, the company received a statewide contract to provide free COVID testing. RCL will distribute educational materials and masks at the testing for those who do not have one. Results of the test are expected in 48-72 hours.
DLCM also hosted Groceries on Us, August 30, 2020, where nearly two hundred families were fed and Load On Us, July 11, 2020, where nearly 82 persons received free laundry services on the church.
