The local area should prepare for drenching rains over the next two days.
While the worst of Sally – now a tropical depression – won’t impact Wayne County, several inches of rain are still expected as the remnants of Sally cross North Carolina.
3 – 5 inches of rain are expected across the region with locally higher amounts possible.
There’s also the possibility for tornadoes in some parts of the state.
A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for Wayne County until Friday afternoon.
Remember – Turn around and don’t drown. It only takes 12 inches of water to carry away a car.
