September 9, 86, Goldsboro

William Johnson, 86, of Goldsboro went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, September 09, 2020 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

Visitation will be held Sunday, September 13, 2020 from 4 until 5:30 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.  Due to Covid-19, a private family graveside service will be held at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.

Mr. Johnson was born in Scotland County, NC on January 29, 1934 to the late William Archie and Mary Armstrong Johnson. He was retired from the United States Air Force.  He was a member of Pentecostal Holy Church where he served as Deacon.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Thelma M. Johnson; three daughters, Cheryl Johnson White of Fayetteville, Elvira Johnson of Goldsboro and Monika Turner, and husband, Darion of Maryland; one brother, Robert Johnson; two grandchildren, Marcellus and Dorian Turner and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his daughter, Sonya Johnson; three brothers, James Henry Johnson, Angus Johnson and Havard Johnson and a sister, Geraldine Barnes.
