The United Way of Wayne County kicks off its 2020 Community Campaign.

This year the local United Way is hoping to raise $900,000 to impact about 18,000 lives in Wayne County.

Thanks to the 17 “Front Runners,” the United Way is already at 32% of its goal.

During a Tuesday interview with Jeff Farrow on Goldsboro’s Greatest Hits, United Way Campaign Chair Bethany Perry talked about the mission of the organization.

United Way of Wayne County partners with 11 different agencies for 16 different programs that help individuals and families in Wayne County.

Perry noted this year’s campaign looks a little different due to COVID-19, but the United Way is always able to share presentations and other materials online.

United Way Resource Development Director Ashlee Fritz said she’s met so many people connected to United Way, and the community’s spirit of giving is overwhelming.

There’s even a chance to win $10,000 through the Fair Share Challenge that is part of this year’s campaign.

The United Way of Wayne County’s 2020 Community Campaign runs through December 1st.
