Lois Smith Parks, 92, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Lois was born in Wayne County on January 11, 1928, to the late Luby and Bessie Westbrook Smith. She loved Hood Swamp Friends Church and was a dedicated and faithful member her entire life.

Lois was a caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother whose primary goal was the happiness and security of her family. She supported the work of her husband on the family farm in the Hood Swamp Community. Lois got great pleasure in cooking and will be remembered by many for the excellent meals she would prepare. She could often be found helping others in her community.

A private graveside service for the family will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2020 in Wayne Memorial Park.

Lois is survived by her husband of 68 years, Robert S. “Ham” Parks; son, Jeffrey S. Parks and wife Shawn of Goldsboro; grandchildren, John Lloyd Parks and Jacob S. Parks. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews she loved very much.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Howell; and brothers, Marvin Smith and Carlton Smith.
