August 17, 83, Goldsboro

Joseph Britton, 83, of Goldsboro went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, August 17, 2020 at his home.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 21, 2020 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro followed by a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley with full military honors.

Mr. Britton was born in Wayne County on December 09, 1936.  He was a faithful member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where he served as past church trustee.  Mr. Britton was retired from the United States Air Force having received the rank of Master Sergeant.  He also retired from the City of Goldsboro.

He leaves to cherish his memories one daughter, Cassandra A. Daniels and husband, Jeffrey of Goldsboro; two sons, Ronald J. Britton of New York and Reginald J. Britton of Georgia; one brother, Jimmy Fields of Greensboro; three sisters, Bertha Fields of Garner, Shirley Bond and husband, Thomas of Dudley and Delores Napper of Seven Springs; one grandson, Reginald Lamar Whitfield and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Britton was preceded in death by his wife, Cladye Britton; his mother, Mary Lofton; one brother, Eddie Fields and two sisters, Evon Parker and Doretha Brewington.
