Billy Henderson Rivenbark, age 81, died Monday at his residence. Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late Kearney and Lela Rivenbark, husband of 53 years to the late Maybelle Powell Rivenbark and father of the late Mark Rivenbark. Billy was the manager of the Piggly Wiggly in Mount Olive for 42 years and served on the Mount Town Council for 10 years.

A service to celebrate Billy’s life will be  held Thursday at 11:00 am at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Pastor Jonathan Altman officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive. The family will greet friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 pm at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Rivenbark and special son, Robbie Whitfield; a step-son, Don Tew;  two sisters, Mary Walker and Ann Jackson; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

In addition to flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place • Memphis, TN 38105.
