August 15, 88, Mount Olive

Virginia Dare Jordan Myers, Mount Olive resident, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2020 at the age of 88. A Sampson County native, she and her late husband resided in the Beautancus area before relocating to Mount Olive.

She was a member of Bear Marsh Baptist Church, and while her main occupational duties were caring for her family and keeping the home, she had worked at Young Squire Industries and with V & S Grocery Store for various periods of time.

Graveside rites will be held Tuesday, August 18, at 11 a.m. in the Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive, and will be officiated by the Rev. Paul Rose. The family will greet friends at the cemetery after the service.

Mrs. Myers is survived by her daughter, Jennifer M. Ford of Myrtle Beach, SC; her son, Timmy Myers of Goldsboro; a granddaughter, Hannah Wiseman and husband, Tyler, and their sons, Josiah and Eli Wiseman, all of San Antonio, Texas; a brother, Jimmy Jordan of Mableton, Ga; and two sisters, Ruby J. Kornegay and husband, Daniel, of Mount Olive, and Judy J. Goode of Grantham.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyce F. Myers; her parents, Grover Cleveland Jordan and Annie Reaves Jordan; and several sisters and brothers.
