Janie Jaberg, President and CEO of Wayne UNC Health Care, has announced her plan to retire later this year. Jaberg joined Wayne UNC Health Care in November 2016. During her tenure at Wayne, she led the organization through a period of growth and advancement which included Chest Pain Center accreditation by the ACC, patient satisfaction improvement of 20% on the HCAHPS facility rating, recruitment of 43 new providers, an A rating in the Leapfrog Safety survey for 3 consecutive periods, implementing Mobile Integrated Health for community paramedicine services, and opening the new surgery center. She also has been dedicated to caring for Wayne County through the COVID-19 pandemic and ensuring the safety of team members and providers.
In addition to her service at Wayne UNC, Janie has been extremely active within our community, having served as a Board Member for the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce, Wayne Occupational Readiness Keys for Success and the Wayne Community College Foundation, to name just a few. She was also a strong advocate and supporter for Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, serving on the Military Affairs Committee.

Janie helped bring Wayne UNC closer to our community through relationships she built both inside and outside the hospital. Her passion for putting patients and team members first created a culture shift and momentum that will carry us forward well into the future. We wish her the very best in retirement.”

Upon retirement, Jaberg is looking forward to spending additional time with her husband, daughters and their families in South Carolina and Ohio.
