A Wayne County Industry will be closing up shop.  SPX FLOW in Goldsboro has filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) with the North Carolina Department of Commerce.  The permanent closure of the SPX FLOW facility on E. Ash Street is expected to affect 83 employees.

SPX FLOW provided the following statement on the closure to Goldsboro Daily News:

“In an effort to position the company effectively in 2020 and beyond, SPX FLOW made the difficult decision to transition its heat exchanger operations in Goldsboro, NC to other SPX FLOW locations by March 2021.  SPX FLOW is always looking at its operations and making decisions on how to improve efficiencies and better serve our customers.  We are making every attempt to place impacted employees into open positions at other U.S. locations.  The less than 1.5% of our employees departing will receive outplacement services.  We understand this is a challenging time for those impacted and do not take these decisions lightly.”
