Born in Washington, DC, she is the daughter of the late Gail Lofton Young and the late Larry John Best.
Cherished memories will linger in the hearts of her sons, Eugene (Adrienne) McBrayer of Arkansas, Christopher McCall of Boston, Mass, Mylik McCall of Goldsboro, Dasean Fields of Boston, Mass and Keywonn Fields of Goldsboro; one granddaughter, Aubrianna McCall; maternal grandmother, Gaynell Lofton of Goldsboro; paternal grandmother, Hellena Best of Boston, Mass; six siblings, Cortez (Teresa) Chapman of LaGrange, Tubiah ( Jamimichia) Mitchell of Goldsboro, Larry “J.R. ” Phillips of Goldsboro, LaTryce Hillard of Maryland, April Porter of Washington, DC and Hellena Best of Boston, Mass and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
