Larry Dean Pia, age 70, died Wednesday at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. Born in San Pedro, CA, he was the son of the late Edward Joseph Pia and Lynn McGrath McCartney. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of the Goldsboro Municipal Golf Course.

A service to celebrate his life for family will be held at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery. The family will have time of visitation on Tuesday, August 11th, from 4:00 until 6:00 pm at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.

He is survived by his sons, Christopher Pia and Daniel Pia; and two grandchildren, Zoey Pia and Dean Pia.
