Rev. Betty Jean Davis, 72, of 306 Kennon Court died Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

She was born May 23, 1948 in  Wayne County to Guilford K. Davis and Myrtle Dortch Davis.

She is survived by her children Darnell Davis of Goldsboro, David Samuel of Raleigh, Bobby Samuel of Wilson, Guilford Wisdom Samuel of Willard, NC, Wennona J. Newsome of the home and a host of other relatives and friends

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 PM at the First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation Friday from 2 PM until 5 PM at the Haskins Funeral Home.
