Goldsboro Mayor Chuck Allen wants city residents to be prepared for Tropical Storm Isaias.
Mayor Allen tells Goldsboro Daily News the city’s fire and police departments are setting up their command posts.
The Goldsboro Public Works Department has been out clearing storm drains in advance of the heavy rainfall expected from Isaias.
To prevent flying debris, Mayor Allen asks residents to clean up loose, light items around their yards and porches.
Allen says the city and county are likely to release an emergency statement ahead of Tropical Storm Isaias later today.
Mayor Allen says the Goldsboro City Council meeting scheduled for Monday evening will be cancelled.
