Christopher Jay Hines, 50, resident of the Goldsboro area, passed away quietly and unexpectedly early Monday morning, August 3, 2020, while at home.
He was a native of the Bethel Church community near Mount Olive. He had served in the United States Air Force and prior to his recent illness, he was employed with Mt. Olive Pickle Company in inventory control.
Survivors include his wife, Shawn Renae Phillips, of the home; his mother, Kathryn Ann Alphin Hines of Mount Olive; children, Becca Hines and her fiance, Michael Sisney, of Warsaw, Sarah Hines Jennette and her husband, Richie, of Pikeville, and Anthony Phillips and Elizabeth Phillips, both of the home; a grandson, Syrus Jennette of Pikeville; a sister, Dawn Hines Seagroves of Mount Olive; a brother-in-law, Hilbert Swinson of Mount Olive; special nieces, Angel Sawyer and her children, Savannah and Sailor Sawyer, Samantha Ellison and her husband, Winnon, and her children, Collin, Keith, Colt, and Clint Carter; a special nephew, Storm Oates; his best friend, Kevin King.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Harley Hines; a sister, Pam Hines Swinson; and an infant brother, Anthony Scott Hines.
