County Resolution Urges Use Of Face Coverings

The Wayne County Commissioners say face coverings are necessary to help defeat the coronavirus.

During Tuesday’s meeting, the Wayne County Board of Commissioners approved a resolution in support of wearing a cloth face covering to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

County Board Chair Ray Mayo noted the obvious discomfort with a face mask, but says he’s in the high-risk population and he doesn’t want to take any chances.

Mayo also says people are dying from COVID-19, and the mask is one way to help protect the community.

The resolution states the “Wayne County Board of Commissioners does recommend and strongly suggests every citizen in Wayne County adhere to Executive Order No. 147 by wearing a cloth face covering whenever in public places, inside or outside.”
