Sandra Kay Singleton

July 20, 64,

Sandra “Sandy” Kay Wilson Singleton, 64, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family.

Sandy was born in Wayne County on March 1, 1956 to the late James Monroe Wilson and Emma Jean Williams Wilson. She had worked as a technician with Wayne Memorial Hospital before her health began to decline. For many years, Sandy worked with her mother in the family business, The Quaker House. Sandy will be remembered by many for her knack with crafts and floral design. She was a long-time member of New Hope Friends Meeting. Sandy was always willing to lend a helping hand to her friends and family, from planning weddings to making bows and flowers arrangements for the church.

Sandy leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love and support for the people she cared about. Though Sandy’s health was failing for years, few people knew the extent to which she struggled. Her joy for life and her family kept her pushing through. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 23, 2020 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Sandy’s life at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Brad Mitchell officiating. The family will also greet friends following the service at the funeral home and other times at her home. Interment will be on Friday, July 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park. Participants are asked to follow social-distancing protective measures while attending the services for Sandy.

Sandy is survived by her husband, Sherwood Singleton; son, Jason Singleton and wife Maria of Goldsboro; brother, Jimmy Wilson and wife Jill of High Point; grandchildren, Hayley Singleton and Jacob Singleton; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special appreciation to Community Home Care and Hospice who provided Hospice care allowing Sandy to spend her final days at home. Simple words cannot express our gratitude.
