GPD To Hold CALEA Accreditation Public Input Session

As part of the CALEA assessment taking place July 20-22, Goldsboro Police Department personnel and members of the community are invited to offer comments at a public input session scheduled for 5 p.m. Monday, July 20. The session will be conducted in the Large Conference Room located on the second floor of the City Hall Annex, 200 N. Center Street, Goldsboro. The public input session will conclude when there are no remaining speakers. Due to COVID-19 gathering restrictions, the public input session is restricted to those who would like to speak to assessors. If you wish to speak at the public input session, please enter the City Hall Annex at the front entrance and maintain social distance while waiting to enter the Large Conference Room. Masks will be required while social distancing but may be removed while speaking to assessors.

Department personnel and the public are also invited to offer comments through a public phone-in session from 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, July 21. Members of the public may call 919-580-4287 to offer comments directly to the Assessment Team. All calls are unscreened and unrecorded.

Appearances at the public input session, as well as telephone comments, are limited to five minutes and must address the Department’s ability to comply with CALEA’s standards. If members of the public have questions regarding the specific standards or standard topics, they may contact Accreditation Manager Marilyn Wagner at 919-580-4342 or via email at [email protected].

Anyone wishing to submit written comments about the Goldsboro Police Department’s ability to comply with the standards for accreditation may send them to the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement, Inc. (CALEA), 13575 Heathcote Boulevard, Suite 320, Gainesville VA, 20155 or email comments to [email protected].
