Grace Dowdy Ginn Hare Jones, 93, peacefully passed away Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Brookdale Senior Living in Smithfield. Born in Wayne County on November 10, 1926 she was the daughter of the late Owen and Mary Ginn.
Grace was married to the late Emmitt Howard Hare, Sr. who worked with Carolina Uniform Service and then the late Stewart Jones, a former Sergeant of the Goldsboro Police Department.
Grace was a loving daughter, sister, mother and grandmother who loved to read novels, solve puzzles, and taking trips to the beach.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 15, 2020 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. at Willow Dale Cemetery in Goldsboro with Pastor Andy Stovall officiating.
Grace is survived by her son, Emmitt Howard Hare, Jr. and wife, Angela of Smithfield, and her only grandchild, Mary D. Hare of LaGrange.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by three children, Martha Hare, Mike Jones and Allen Jones; and her six siblings, Cleveland Ginn, Owen Ginn, Frances Williams, Thelma Roberson, Virginia Woodard, and Evelyn Mitchell.
