Stolen Vehicle Crashes Into Kinston Home

An investigation is underway after three people crash a stolen vehicle into a Kinston home.

On Friday, officers with the Kinston P.D. responded to the 2500 block of Hodges Road for the report of someone breaking into a vehicle.  The officers spotted a vehicle driving erratically in the area.  That stolen vehicle fled the attempted traffic stop, but crashed into a home on the 3200 block of Hodges Road causing major damage to the vehicle and home.  The three occupants of the vehicle, 26-year-old Tyquan M. Maye of Kinston, 28-year-old Devante D. Montgomery of LaGrange, and 26-year-old Jamal M. Pridgen of Kinston, were taken to Vidant Medical Center in Greeneville for treatment.

Citizens in Kinston and Lenoir County have been victimized by a string of overnight vehicle break-ins for several weeks.  The KPD says narcotics, firearms and evidence of breaking and enterings have been recovered following Friday’s incident.

This is still an active investigation and the Kinston Police Department and Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office are working together on the investigation into the recent criminal acts.
