Melrose Best Bryan, 89, of the Dobbersville community, passed away on July 3, 2020, at Wayne UNC Hospital in Goldsboro. She is survived by her daughters; Terry B. Butler and husband Dan of LaGrange, and Pamela Rose Bryan of Dudley; her son, Mark W. and JoAnn Bryan also of Dudley; a brother, Kenneth Best and his wife Helen of Mount Olive; three grandchildren, Mark Bryan and his wife Amy, Matthew Bryan, and Colton Butler; two-great-grandchildren, Marinah and Macon Bryan. Mrs. Melrose was preceded in death by her parents; Robert and Minnie Jordan Best; and a brother, Jordan Best.

Mrs. Melrose had retired with the Wayne County Board of Education with over 35 years of serving as a purchasing clerk. She had also been a faithful member of Brownings United Methodist Church, Dobbersville.

A Service to remember her life will be held in the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home, on Tuesday, July 7 at two o’clock in the afternoon with Rev. Arthur Warren, and Rev. Patrick Mustin officiating. Michael Odom, a close friend of the family will deliver personal remarks. The Bryan family will receive friends during the hour prior to the service beginning at one o’clock at the funeral home. Committal and Interment will immediately follow the service at Wayne Memorial Park, Dudley. The Bryan family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude for all the care their mother received during her stay at Brookdale Assisted Living, Berkeley Blvd., Goldsboro.
