Over 1,800 people have contracted the coronavirus in Wayne County.

According to Wednesday’s update from Wayne County Government, there have been 1,819 total positive cases of COVID-19 in Wayne County.  When taking into account those that are already considered recovered, the county has an estimated 594 active cases of the virus.

Three more people have died due to COVID-19 in Wayne County:

• The first death occurred on Friday, was an individual in their early-60s with underlying medical conditions, and was from a congregate living facility.
• The second occurred Monday, was a person in their early-70s with underlying medical conditions, and was from a congregate living facility.
• The third and final death was also recorded on Monday, was a person in their mid-30s with underlying medical conditions, and was not associated with a congregate living facility.

The county has now recorded 29 coronavirus-related deaths.
